Gift Assistant fraud update
Ben Popken at Gothamist did some additional sleuthing on my e-commerce woes with the Gift Assistant . Ben even managed to track down the cell phones of the proprietors of the business, who he said would refund me the $130 if I called.
Well it's been three weeks since I've called and no luck. Back to Citibank Fraud Protection Unit for me...
I have got a $280 gift card from a family member to choose my gift cards on thegiftassistant.com in April 2006 and never got any gift card I chose. Its been just about 1 year any nothing.

I have a gift assistant card that I received from a family member which is supposed to be worth $1000 dollars but am unable to use it b/c the site is no longer online and the 1-877 # is disconnected how is it these ppl can get away with such fraud?
It just puts me into a rage when i think about it!!!!!!

Im so mad b/c I too have a $1000 gift card and cannot use it ... THESE people are committing fraud!!!!!!!!!!
they should have to refund money to all people who have their gift cards and cannot redeem them. I am really disappointed b/c I planned to use mine to pay for a hotel stay.. guess I will just have to cancel my plans now :(
