I've mentioned previously that my pal Tony Fleming runs a very well-done blog covering the race of the UN Secretary-General position in 2007. Tony tells me that he has been invited by the Washington Post to provide background material on the UN Secretary General's race. Using this material, the Post asked leading editors, writers and journalists to give their thoughts on the race, then opened it up to the public to share their own impressions. Tony asks folks to visit the "PostGlobal" section of the Washington Post site and share their views.
FYI, It looks like Ban Ki Moon, foreign minister of South Korea, is going to be the next SG, but you might want to make your opinions on Ban Ki Moon, the process and the other candidates known anyway. Kudos to Tony for blowing the doors and windows open on this typically opaque and mysterious process.
