Upcoming Second Life job fairs for EMC, KPMG, Royal Bank of Scotland and more

Emc_recruitment_day

For those of you looking for employment, Second Life offers a new way to find out about real life job opportunities, attend virtual job fairs, and even participate in a job interview, all from your desktop.  There are however lots of new considerations that you have to take into account as you engage in virtual job hunting: What outfit should my avatar wear to an interview? What animations will best project confidence but not cockiness?  Should my avatar look like my real life self or my android / neko / Gorean slave self?

I got word that there are a couple of job fairs coming up in Second Life that folks might be interested in. First off, the group TMP Worldwide  is holding a virtual job fair for UK residents from October 16-18.  Companies like KPMG, The Royal Bank of Scotland Group and Yell will contact potential applicants and set up interviews that will take place in TMP UK Island.  There's an initial screening process, and an orientation for newbies to SL.

Then on October 25, EMC, the "world's leading developer and provider of information infrastructure technology and solutions," will be holding in-world job interviews with prospective employees for positions in marketing, technology, development, sales, and services. You can teleport directly to EMC's recruitment center at this SLURL.

Good luck, job seekers! (And for God's sake, don't wear that bling tie, it looks ridiculous.)
