I have a dream. It is not a grandiose dream. But it is one that maybe you can help make real. I want to have a dance party for my 40th birthday on the Hudson river this June.
Specifically here's what I want: to gather 50-100 of my favorite peeps and have them ring in my 40th birthday with a soul / funk dance party at some outdoor venue by the Hudson river. Ideally it would cost at most $1,000 to rent, it would have a decent dance floor, offer some kind of bar, and that's really it. (I'm willing to compromise on the East River for the right venue, but not New Jersey or Staten Island.) I've got a number of friends who would be great DJs (Swifty, Lilieblue, and Asane, come to mind.)
